Delegation from the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Meets Chairperson, NCSW
A delegation from the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, led by Nasreen Azhar, called on Chairperson Noureen Bano Lehri and Secretary NCSW Humaira Zia Mufti at the National Commission on the Status of Women. The meeting served as an important platform to discuss institutional collaboration on advancing women’s rights in Pakistan. Key areas included strengthening harassment laws, improving complaint and referral mechanisms, addressing technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV), and enhancing coordination among stakeholders. The Commission also shared its strategic priorities, including integrating legal awareness into education systems, engaging with the Women Parliamentary Caucus, sensitizing law enforcement institutions, and pursuing legislative reforms for long-term societal impact. Both organizations agreed to pursue joint initiatives, staff-level coordination, and alliance-building efforts, including the development of a Gender Justice Tracker in collaboration with the Ministry of IT to improve transparency and accessibility of case data across institutions.
