National Commission on the Status of Women, Islamabad proudly participated in the candlelight vigil organized by the Transgender Protection Centre, Ministry of Human Rights , to mark the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR).

Ms. Ume-Laila Azhar, Interim Chairperson of NCSW, attended the event as Guest of Honor. In her address, she applauded the efforts for inclusion of transgender individuals in society and acknowledged the unwavering efforts of transgender rights advocates.

The event paid tribute to those who have lost their lives due to transphobic violence and discrimination. It also highlighted the urgent need to prioritize the inclusion and empowerment of transgender individuals in society.

The vigil saw significant participation from the transgender community and was graced by Ms. Saba Sadiq, Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Human Rights, as Chief Guest.
