NCSW's 75th Board Meeting Marks Milestone in Empowering Women Across Pakistan- NCSW, Islamabad, 6th February 2025
National Commission on the Status of Women, Islamabad (NCSW) is hosting its 75th board meeting, marking a significant milestone in its journey to empower women across #Pakistan. Interim Chairperson Ume Laila Azhar welcomed members from across Pakistan, briefing them on the NCSW Act 2012, amendments, and rules. Ms Azhar highlighted NCSW's initiatives, including its efforts to empower women through education and financial integrity. She also discussed the organization's campaign for the Child Marriage Restraint Law, which aims to set 18 years as the minimum age for marriage. DG Ministry of Human Rights Muhammad Arshad assured the members of the ministry's support and expressed enthusiasm for the opportunities arising from the meeting. Deputy Chief NCSW Shabana Nawaz presented the plan for the two-day meeting, including the reconstitution of committees and the way forward for the executive committee. Showing keen interest, in the commission's future direction, Members are seeking clarity on its plans for strengthening women's rights, effective implementation of laws, and future amendments.
