Generational Equality

The Beijing declaration and platform for action of 1995 was developed at the fourth world conference on women held in Beijing, where women right activists from all over the world were present. This platform has been adopted by Pakistan and we are committed to taking bold and strategic actions on the 12 critical areas of concern which includes: 

  1. Poverty
  2. Education and Training
  3. Health
  4. Violence
  5. Armed Conflict
  6. Economy
  7. Power and Decision-making 
  8. Institutional Mechanisms
  9. Human Rights
  10. Media
  11. Environment 
  12. The Girl Child

NCSW in collaboration with UN Women is bringing together the next generations of women’s rights activists with the gender equality advocates and visionaries who were instrumental in creating the Beijing Platform for Action and will empower women through a new groundbreaking, multigenerational campaign: “Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights for an Equal Future.”

The focus of this collaboration will be to create a safe space for reflection on the journey of Beijing +25, to bring together voice of women with different experiences from different walks of life and document recommendations reflective of the needs of women. As an outcome of this exercise a set of provincial recommendations contributing to National recommendations representative of the voices of Pakistani women.
