18th May 2022, 71st National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) Board Meeting, Holiday Inn Islamabad

Chairperson NCSW chaired the 71st Board meeting of NCSW, held on 18th May, 2022 in Holiday Inn hotel, Islamabad.

The meeting was attended by all members from four provinces, AJK and GB including the chairpersons of AJK, Sindh, KP and Balochistan Commissions.

Chairperson appreciated the support of the board members to NCSW. NCSW was able to achieve major milestones in the short period since my appointment in July 2021.

NCSW’s campaign to enhance women’s political participation at the local government level is now moving into a new phase. In this phase, the focus will be on ensuring the meaningful role and participation of women in general elections.

Chairperson also briefed the house on NCSW’s engagement at the global level meeting of the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Answered all the queries of the house regarding future plans and the significance of the forum.

The Board members appreciated NCSW vision and dynamic leadership which resulted in the establishment of the Commission in Balochistan and the appointment of the Chairperson.

The board also demanded an early appointment of the Chairperson for the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women and the establishment of Commission in GB.
