Code of Ethics to prohibit hate speech against women in politics, 6th March 2023, Serena Hotel Islamabad

oday NCSW in collaboration with UNDP and UN Women held the 7th consultation to create the Code of Ethics to prohibit hate speech against women in politics. We were joined by senator Semi Ezdi, Senator Fawzia Arshad, MNA Saira Bano, Samia Raheel Qazi, and other Parlimentarians, representatives from Election Commission, Civil Society and the media.

Parliamentary Secretary Ministry of Law & Justice Mehnaz Aziz attended the consultation and mentioned the draft was ready to be refined into a law & will work actively towards sharing it with the floor of the house.

We were also grateful to the Secretary ECP, Mr. Omer Hamid, for immediately accepting our recommendations for adopting the gender neutral language in the Code Of Conduct & promised to work hand in hand with the NCSW to finalize and incorporate the Code of Ethics to prohibit hate speech against women in politics.
