Young women Conference - Lahore

Dr. Ayra Inderyas, member of National Commission on the Status of Women, Islamabad (NCSW) from Punjab, addresses the Young #women Conference in Lahore, highlighting the importance of #education and zero tolerance for gender-based violence. She emphasized, #violence against women should be met with strong action, rather than just condemnation. Despite existing regulations, women and girls continue to face brutality in various settings, including homes, educational institutions and workplaces.

To address this issue, Dr. Patras suggested that women must work together to raise #awareness and promote the dignity and needs of women. She also interacted with women's groups at the YWCA in Lahore, discussing potential amendments to personal laws for religious #minorities in Pakistan and advocating for an end to child marriages.
